Cuddled in the rugged Aravalli, the capital of Rajasthan, Jaipur is a most sought after destinations in India. It is also known as the pink city because of the pink hued building existing in the place since the age of Rajputs. It is a vibrant city and at the same time sets as a wild contrast with the buzzling metropolis. In fact the city is a feast for the eyes. Although the Rajputana flavoured in Jaipur can be felt from every corner of the city. The city possesses innumerable cultural heritage sights, in fact the city is a visitors delight. Jaipur has plenty of things to offer tourists – from fairs and festivals to extra ordinarily adorned people, a royal legacy of forts and palaces, a wealth of handi crafts and fabrics and mouth watering traditional dishes.
A travel to Jaipur acquaint us with many cultural heritage sights and attractions. These are –

The City Palace Jaipur – At the heart of the city stands the beautiful City Palace, an imposing blend of traditional Rajasthani and Mughal architecture and craftsmanship. The beautiful palace with its carved ivory and brass doors, marble paved courts and chandeliered ceilings is used in part as a private residence by the present Maharaja. The Chandra Mahal which overlooks the Jai Niwas garden, Govind Dev Temple and a string of minor palaces. The Diwan – i am now houses the Maharaja’s collection of rare paintings and manuscript and is known as the Maharaja of Jaipur Museum. City Palace is one of the main attractions of Jaipur.

Hawa Mahal – Hawa Mahal is a part of the City Palace and a most striking land mark of Jaipur. The intricately carved and balconied five storied pink sand stone building once served as a screened grand stand for the royal ladies who could watch the victory processions without being seen. The broad pyramidal facade of the Mahal, with latticed screens, domes and arches has an air of lightness and delicate beauty about it.

Centra Museum Jaipur – It is located in the Ram Nivas Garden, has a pleasant blend of oriental and victorian architecture. The museum contains a rich carving, matel ware, stone and matel sculpture and painting and and belonging to different Rajasthani school.

Jal Mahal – The palace built amidst a lake was intended as the summer resort for the royal family. The place noted for its intricate architecture. The view of the Mahal from the road is wonderful.

Nahargarh Fort – Nahargarh fort commands a panoramic view from the top of the hill. It was a famous retreat for the royal family. The journey to the fort is very exotic, it takes way up the hills through picturesque scenery. Near to it is the Jaigarh fort, which contains the museum of weapons and a favorite tourists destinations in Jaipur.

Amber Fort – Last but most interesting tourists destination in Jaipur is Amber Fort. Just 11 km away from the main town Jaipur stand s the majestic Amber fort. The massive wall s and towers, the white marble hall of Public Audience, the glittering sheesh Mahal and the pleasure palace are a reminder of the glory and grandeur of medieval Rajasthan.

The city Jaipur not only attracts tourists by its historical monuments but by its food and shopping archade. Jaipur is known as the shopper’s paradise. There are a few markets in Jaipur which lures tourists with attractive colourful products. The hospitality of the local people never fail to attracts tourists again and again.
